For those who care, out of the box the 2010 SHO isn't all that impressive. Curb weight is 4,338 lbs and it's only putting out 350 lb/ft of torque.

Compare to a GXP at 3,448 lbs and 323 lb/ft of torque and I'll take the GXP. One of the guys on my street has a new SHO and the weight just really drags that car down. I managed to get out in front by about half a length and stay there.

I do feel like the SHO might be more responsive to mods though, but we'll see. I'll freely admit to wishing my GXP had AWD.

Definately get the '89. I've still got to get mine back on the road.

Also, I got pretty good at launching mine. Never took it to the track (street fighter) but I usually got people off the line pretty well. 3rd gear is where it's at though. Were you on SHOforum?

For those who don't already know, just about everything costs more in Canada--thanks to free health care, hence the extra thousands onto the US priced GXP. Even with the limited amount of aftermarket for the LS4, as of now, matching the '10 SHO's power rating should not be a major issue...as most of the replies have mentioned. I have seen the specs and numbers of the turbo kit available for the LS4...not really impressed, for the price. Hopefully, a revised kit or supercharger will become available for the LS4--without having to mod the car's body...at least very much.
