Rockin' the SHO!(first kill)
Yesterday I started talking to a fellow V8 performance sedan owner(1998 SHO). He seemed to know his stuff, and was really wanting to run our cars (my 06' Grand Prix GXP) to compare. He knew the power difference of our cars from the factory, but was wanting to compare his (with mods) and mine(stock, completely).
His mods are: Cold air intake with stainless filter (that he put on moments before we raced lol), programmer with custom tune, exhuast(don't know what for sure), new tires, and new stiff suspension (again i don't the brand). My car is stock with bald tires, and a dirty paper air filter.
We took off during lunch, just him in his car and me and two other guys in mine. He picked that we go from a 20mph roll at three honks. I put it in first, 3rd honk, and I stuck it to the floor, shifted at about 5800, then looked and he was WAY back there! I let off and stopped to talk, and he said that he accidently had it in second. So I went home, ate some noodles, and came back to school early for the rematch. It went the same way, he stopped falling back at higher speeds(100+) but still not close. My third is a dog gear
Well, this was my first point blank kill, and wanted to share it with all of you. Sorry for the length of this post, just excited.
Keep kicken A$$!!!

Good Kill. With Racing the car shifts into 3 really early. like 92mph, when second is good to 102mph. Good idea to learn when to shift with tapshift, in order to keep it in second gear longer

Is it a real twinturbo or like the "twinturbo" set up they use on the f-series diesels with a small turbo feeding a bigger turbo?
If that time is right than atleast we are within reach with some mods.

Its pretty damn badass IMO, it moves that heavy Taurus SHO through the quarter mile in about the same time as a three valve 4.6 V8 Mustang GT. And it gets about the same gas mileage.

Has anyone seen the MSRP on the new SHO? $37995 to start! Anyone who buys that brand new must be high. I paid $28000 for my GXP brand new. AWD and 60hp doesn't justify the $10k price difference in my mind. To each his own I guess.

Start at $38k but fully loaded they top out at $45k. It is a very nice car with a lot of features reserved for much more upscale cars. Clearly fast in a straight line. Unforunately they could use better brakes, they weigh ALOT, and the AWD is a front biased system. I'd still drive one if I wasn't looking for an all out performance car though.
