Default New Home Made 1.5" TB Spacer

Well... Been working on this for some time, finally in and running great!. Bought a 1.5" thick piece of hard aluminum on ebay to make my own custom 1.5" thick throttle body spacer which is twice as thick as commercially available ones. Cut it to size on my chop saw with a metal cutting disk. Drilled the center with a Lenox 3" hole saw and finished it with a drum sander and polishing disk on the drill press, it is smooth bored, no spirals ( no way the spirals work to twist the incoming air all the way to the cylinders in commercial units! All they do is produce an annoying sound!!!). Drilled 4 appropriate mounting holes and used a fiber gasket with blue silicone to seal it to a throttle body that I also bought cheap on ebay, (kept my original stored away). I matched the spacer to the throttle body ( sanded down the sharp protruding lip on the bottom) Cleaned and polished it all up and painted it red anodized finish. Looks great! Test run produced no annoying intake whistle sounds. No loss of torque low down, it really smokes the tires, and feels real good all the way to red line. I did have to cut my silicon 45 degree tube to my home made CAI aluminum box down quite a bit, but it all fits nice. Also needed to make the two large vacuum tubes a little longer to reach.
The reason I wanted a 1.5" spacer is that I believe that the real primary benefit of a TB Spacer in our LS4 engines is 1: increase plenum volume of intake manifold and 2: ease the entry into the intake manifold past the D shaped restriction at the intake caused by the placement of the oil presser sensor. (Seems to me there is room there to put in a 90 degree fitting to move the sensor and eliminate a good deal of that D restriction by reshapping the mainfold, SOMEONE PLEASE DO IT!)

I suppose if I had an equiped machine shop I would consider it, but I made this with a chopsaw and a inexpensive drill press and lots of hand work, sanding, grinding etc. I am just not equiped to make these in numbers, I made my own cause I couldn't get what I wanted commercially, and because I just like to do it. Oh yeah, I am also cheap!!
Wasn't really that hard, just measure and drill and cut and grind and sand.
