cammed gxp now has an LS2 intake!
we swapped an ls2 intake onto a cammed gxp this week. no dyno numbers yet, but the car pulls significantly harder...very nice upgrade. will be using an ls2 TB in the coming weeks....
bascially we had to remove and plug the stock ls2 brake booster port and vacum port, and relocated it in a position that the stock brake booster hose will reach.
we obtained a piece of aluminum for free from a local machine shop, and modified it to mate with the tb and the intake.
we had a spare tb, so we kept the original ls4 tb, and modified the tb by elongating two holes to go through the adapter plate into the manifold.
we also slightly bent the fuel rails to clear the top of the manifold.
we had to make a custom valley cover, because the DOD VLOM sits to high. i didnt get any pics of that, but we will have the intake off again for back to back dyno pulls to see some numbers. the DOD has already been elminated in this car, because we changed the lifters when the cam went in.
also we had to plug the oil pressure sending unit port under the valley cover, as it would come in contact with the manifold. no big deal, as DOD is gone, and we will be running an external oil pressure gauge.
the pcv system needed to be modified a little bit because the ls2 manifold does not have the port on top of the unit. we ran a hose from the rear valve cover, around to the front evap port on the intake.
the purge solenoid, and evap were done away with, via hp tuners.
we will be upgrading to an LS2 tb, but im waiting to find a good deal on one. that will be an easy swap, using an ls2 tb pigtail and wiring the two grounds, and two 5v's together.
heres the pics, i dont have many, but theres not much to see!

I thought the LS2 had different shaped intake runners than the LS6 heads on our car's....is that wrong?
Hmmm nevermind...screw the LS2 get a Fast Intake on there....
What does the Vally Cover look like??

Nice job. Clean up that adapter though....haha. You need to port that intake and put on the LS2 throttle body. Can't wait to see some dyno numbers, that stock intake is garbage. Any plans for a custom set of headers to complete the package?
you are aware that the LS2 uses the LS6 heads right?

I just want to know where the hell he got his cam and what was the trick to cam it...all my research shows that you have to close up our oil chambers for the DOD...and driveablitly would go down the tube!!

we both (the owner and myself) work for a gm garage, so i was able to get the manifold for dirt cheap, used some scrap around...iicr we have less than 250 invested into the whole swap, including the adapters, spare TB,
no plans for headers yet, as im trying to pursuade the owner to going to the boosted side
im planning on picking up an LS2 tb very soon.
the ls2 manifold is no where NEAR junk compared the the stock LS4 inlet lol
rossko i sent you a pm
