Are you going to insulate it from underhood heat? If you don't, you'll just suck lots of hot air and the car will probably be slower and get worse mileage.

I bought one too but mine came with a K&N filter. Looks good but sucks alot of hot air cause there is no heat shield.

You are probably better off keeping it stock or maybe going with the K&N. Those metal intakes absorb and retain a lot of heat.

Looks nice but you wasted your money. That's a HAI not a CAI.

What have you noticed so far? I will say, I dislike the blue silicone very much!

You know i read the hot air intake stuff. It sounds like a 4bbl carb. And as far as the hot air stuff. I like the look of this intake to k&n. I been building cars for 27 years and that divider will not make that much of a difference. Not for the price. i can Put the diff in a tuner. And I got my camaro to race someone. This is a fun car to drive. And going to take to car shows some. In the end I think it is a good CAI. Fit real good.

Let me know how install goes and if everything you needed came with it.

I plan on purchasing one.

I already have a spectre performance cone filter though so I suppose I just need something that allows me to tee in and also connect to mass air sensor.

thanks

Jason

Everything you need is with it. Has instructions. I think it looks good compared to the K&N. Great deal. As far as I am concerned. Post pics when you get it.

I bet your intake air temps are a good deal higher than stock though, especially when the car isn't moving. I had a home made HAI on my 99 gtp with the filter up in the corner like that- and intake air temps were a good deal over the stock airbox (or a well insulated CAI box- not like these K&Ns) when stopped and at low speeds, especially when the radiator fans were running.

i can Put the diff in a tuner.
What do you mean you can put the diff in a tuner? You can't tune your car to suck colder air.

In the end I think it is a good CAI.
As said above, if its open to the engine bay heat, it is considering a HAI, not a CAI.

Not trying to rip on your mod, looks good- just needs either a wall or box (preferably insulated) to make it a true CAI.

I hear ya. On the CAI and HAI. But I really got this one because of the looks of it. I am not racing the car. It is my weekend car. And the car is so fun to drive. My camaro is my race car. And I have an 05 Mustang GT to hot rod around in. And I know you can't tune for cold air. I mean the 200 could go to buy a dioblo tuner. I respect all the stuff you guys do to make cars fast.
