LS6 Manifold Idea
so after all the questions and ideas on here about porting or replacing the LS4 manifold, is it completly out of the question to think you could block off the OPSU, put an LS2 valley cover on, an LS6 intake and relocate the OPSU to the oil filter adapter kind? why wouldn't this work? I haven't done any research to see if anyone makes an oil filter adapter OPSU but I'm sure the idea is possible.
Any thoughts??

someone has already tried that, I don't know if he was successful or not he never updated his post. Try searching for ls6 intake in the LS4 forum. Someone did however, successfully install an LS2 intake. Never got any hard numbers but it was successful.

I would like to know the exact differences side by side between the LS6 and LS2 manifold in terms of vacuum connections and such to determine which one would be easiest to use with existing connections.

i guess it really wouldn't matter if it was an LS2 or LS6 intake, either one is SO much better than ours. best fit with least mods would be the easiest and would agree with supercat on seeing them side by side to see which one would be easier. I think it's possible though! if anyone has any more info on this let me know. winter is coming here in wisconsin and would like to start tearing down the top end to start this project, just need to get everything figured out before i do.
thanks

ok, the point is not which intake to choose but more IF it is possible. I saw the link on the LS2 swap the guy did here but no real details about where he relocated the OPSU and no results. Need to figure out where to go with the OPSU and the rest is easy.

the guy that did the LS2 intake swap is phat_ridegt. Here's his post, he didn't go into much detail or respond to his own post. I wish he would post a video or dyno numbers or something.

I saw a part to do this. Not sure if it would work or not. Lemme find the pic of the item.
GM oil pan oil routing block off plate. Mounts on oil pan to route from oil filter to block. Fits all factory LSx oil pans. This block off plate has a threaded hole for provision for a sensor or oil feed. M12 threads.

i dont know how that would work, it would get oil sure, but if it's off the oil pan, would it read oil pressure? im gonna try to find a filter adapter today that would accept the OPSU. that would be the best and easiest way i think.

In it's threaded version, it is a C5 Corvette part. There is a version that appears in trucks where the boss is unthreaded, which would be more suitable, since you can thread it for your sensor application.
If it's threads were smaller, the CTS-V temp/pressure combo sensor would be the plan. It's thread's OD, however, is almost as large as the OD of the boss on the cover.
What brought me to this forum was an LS7 manifold search that I was doing.
It seems that on here, there is a misconception regarding the LS7 manifold fitment. Sorry, guys, as it only fits the LS7 heads which, in turn, only fit the 4.125 case.
