Transmission dead 41k miles

Transmission dead 41k miles
Well it finally went, getting it rebuilt as we speak with new valve body kit, Transgo shift kit, new clutches, bearings, new boost sleeve assembly, and a brand new fully modified torque converter. The stock torque converter completely blew causing metal shards to travel through the entire transmission and burn out the clutches. Total cost $2200 (not under warranty )

Nothing wrong with the juice, I look forward to slappin' a 100 shot on mine as well (obviously realizing the tranny will hate it). I almost wish my transmission would take a dump just to get a free rebuild out of GM before I go modding it.

I wouldn't expect to get 200k out of your trans at these power levels, especially if you are constantly beating on your car, but you won't blow up your trans with an occasional weekend track pass and some restraint during normal driving for a long time. Really though, at 500HP the engine's bottom end won't last 200k either.

If you can find a GM Racing 1" chain, you can get to 10's. It's the 7/8ths chain that leads to that 400-500 number (He told me 400-450 WHP), not the guts of the transmission.

and you want them to do what? put in an upgraded trans (yes it should have had one from the beginning but it didnt so thats the hand we were dealt) then what the car came with? no car company would replace a blown trans with anything other then what the car came with. the OP had spray on his car...once again no car company is goin to warranty a trans replacement on a car that has spray....i would like to hear what you think gm should do?

why wasnt your 07 Impala SS trans not covered under warranty. the trans in my SS Monte went at 35k, A mere 5000 after i flushed the trans with that expensive *** dexronVI fluid. the torque converter shredded itself and the car would buck when under light acceleration going up a hill. lucky for me I work at a dealer. if it is an 07 it has a 5 year, 100k warranty on the powertrain. call your dealer before you pay for the trans job
