Default Mod plans...

I just did my taxes and I am going to get the following things. New T. Conv., Headers, FasterProms Stage 2 Intake, Mufflers and tips. I will then go to the track to see what she'll do. I am hoping a sub-13 second run.

LOL! I guess my secret goal without changing cams and going turbo is to build one of the quickest N/A GXP's. At least around these parts in New England. I just put some new tires on it too. I mounted 255-45r18's all the way around. It does work on the rear and they do not rub if you aren't lowered. It makes the car feel way more stable. And yes, I used the stock rims for the rears. They fit fine.

I went with these at 76.21 per tire.

mike, skip the stage 2 intake and do an ls6, for the extra 400 its WELL worth it. You will pick an additional 20hp easy

What stall are you planning on using in your new torque converter? Is that 2800RPM in your sig old? With all of your trans coolers, you could probably get away with a really high stall.

Here is the 255/45-18 on the rear of the 7" rim. I only took one pic and it's with a cell phone.

I probably won't do an LS6 intake. I just want a plain ole' swap. My old t. conv. whines worse than a 3 year old when it's cold. The trans still shifts fine but I don't want the t. conv. ruining the trans. I will probably stick close to a stock stall. If I raced all the time I'd go to a higher stall.

Mike,

How's that going to work out once you rotate? The 255's will rub on the back with the 8" rims. I'm assuming you did this so you can rotate?

It will look cool with the 8" rims in the back and the 7"ers in the front. It will look old school RWD.

Honestly, I didn't do it so I could rotate the tires. I got such a great deal on the 255's I just bought 4 and prayed they'd work out back too. It was a leap of faith on the 7" rim. The 225's were 40 dollars more for each tire that's another reason I got the 255's. I really like to old school look to. Thanks for the idea... lol...

Which tires are those? I didn't see any on the site for that price.

is there a difference between the 8" and the 7" offset or backspacing? i went with the 7s cause i was worried there would be a spacing issue if i tried to run 8" alcoas all the way around.

The 7's will be fine and you shouldn't hit anythnig with 8" rims all the way around if you are not lowered. Your Monte looks great with the GXP rims on it. My wife likes it too.

Centexss,

Here is a link for you for those tires.

My wife is quite partial to Monte Carlo's. When I met her she had an 86 SS in black primer and cherry bombs. (By the way, I mean the mufflers guys....lol...)

She really wants a newer SS but I have to wait till the GXP is paid for first. A little over one year and I own it. Can't wait till it's paid for. If I get her a SS she may get one with the supercharged V-6. We shall see though.
