You know I will
I've been researching tires and found great reviews on the Goodyear Eagle GTs. They come in 255/40/18 (although I think 245/45/18 might be a better overall fit), decent price, and American made. I prefer to have American made tires on my American cars.

255/40/18 will be quite shorter than stock. I'm using that size because I got the tires for free, it's noticeable how shorter they are - adds to the wheel gap. It doesn't look bad though. The 245/45/18 is still shorter than stock, I ran that size too - the 255/45 looks better IMO.

Well once you lower the car (most people would if they want to run 18s), thats impossible to have a tire no shorter than stock on a rim with a larger track width and lower offset. Good luck.

After some more research and measuring on my car, I agree that the 255/45/18 is the best choice if I want to fill up the wheel well. I know I said I'd prefer american tires, but Nitto makes a sweet tire (NT 555) in that exact size...I've heard many good things about the Nittos as well. Good choice?
And I don't plan on lowering the car, so I think it should work.
P.S. - I found a set of 18x9 Torq Thrust M Wheels, new in boxes for $598.68 shipped to my door

if you check out the thread from the monte carlo forum i posted on here. there is rubbing issues in the rear if you lower the car. if you lower it you have to roll the quarters. the guy that did his said it wasnt that bad and that it wont rub if the cars not lowered.

Well, I just ordered the wheels & tires from TireRack.com. They will ship the mounted & balanced set to my door for $1,297.82 (minus an $80 rebate for the tires), so the grand total will end up being $1,217.82. I'd rather have a complete, ready to install set instead of ordering the wheels & tires from separate places, then having to take them to a local shop to be mounted & balanced. It would have cost more time & money doing it that way.
I went with the 18x9" American Racing Torq Thrust M Black wheels & P255/45ZR-18 Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires (same tires that are factory installed on the Ford GT, Z06 Vette, & SRT-8 cars). I am looking forward to receiving them and will post pics when they are installed.
Thank you all very much for the help with sizes and such...

Pics should be coming soon - I just received the wheels & tires today! They are sick to say the least . The polished wheel lip is at least 3" wide, the black spokes are super slick, and even the back of the wheels are painted black. Pretty cool little extra touch on a very nice wheel. The Goodyear Eagle F1 tires look pretty damn sweet too. They are slightly taller and certainly wider than stock. I can't wait to get them on the car
