HID alternative?
www.ddmtuning.com has HID kits for $30 and about $15 for shipping per order. Almost any bulb type and temperature you want and they have a LIFETIME WARRANTY! Have had many of these sets and so do my friends, never had a problem!

I ran the 6k xenon factory replacements and foglights in my old 02 GTP.
They were very bright and a great price. Plus I think the owner is/was a member of Club Grand Prix.

Nacho is right, it should be the end of this! unfortunatly, the "raptor" brand on that website is currently out of stock on almost everything but i called them today and they said they would have more stock soon! Also, never had to buy any harness to keep them from blinking either. Most kits are simple plug and play, some odd ones like the fogs on my G8 (5202) you have to get the right wire ends to plug into the factory harness or just hardwire them like I did. I just kept the connectors so if i ever want to get rid of the car and keep the HID's i can just hardwire the factory bulb connector back on.

I just installed my 5000K lows and fogs from DDM tuning and its a great kit. I got the slim ballast, and no flicker at all. I'm thinking of getting them for the wifes explorer now, because i've never seen so well driving at night.

and... has anyone used the HIR(Halogen infrared reflecting bulbs)???

we are learning about lighting in school right now (architecture) but hids with balasts take a substantial ammount of power compared to normal (i think 10-15 percent)lighting i wonder how much juice it takes from your coils.... they are a great look, but balasts depending on what type you use can be really finiky especially for warm up and areas with cold weather start up

Not till you pull enough amps for long enough time to melt the stock wiring. The current draw can be significant enough to melt the insulation and cause fires. That the reason that a relay harness should be used. It will use the headlight power to trigger the relay not the balast. Just a safety for your vehicles wiring/electrical system.
I've heard 35W is perfect for fogs, 55W can blind oncoming traffic as there is no adjustment to correct alignment. 55W will work good for headlights as they are adjustable. HID's ive been told actually run cooler than traditional halogen bulbs, that may be just the 35W though I don't know.

ill take some pics tonight. i have before and after pics but the afters were in the rain. ill post them later. im running the 35w in the lows and the fogs with no problem. no one flashing me the beams cause theyre to bright. i also havent suffered any flickering or what not.

hope your buddy buddy with whoever's doing your tunes cause that could get costly. i want to get those headers in a pretty bad way. i gotta sell some stuff though. the woman will skin me alive if i get them im still negotiating.
