Default swap

I have yet to put the ls6 manifold on the car. I have had a lot of stuff to do around the house, the weather has been pretty poor and the dog ate my homework. Ok plenty of excuses. I have painted the manifold and fuel rails and TB. I have also gotten a set of the truck ignition coils that I plan on installing at the same time, I painted them too.
I used a truck electronic TB, it bolts right up to LS6 manifold without adaptors, it is same inside diameter as stock LS4, just uses a 4" intake air tube, and I had to make an adaptor cable to plug it to LS4 TB cable as contact pins on the truck TB are in different locations in plug. See these photos before painting. I tapped and screwed in vacuum ports on truck TB to accomodate PCV and brakes which are lost from the manifold swap.

I have not connected or installed anything yet. I have no reason to believe it won't work, wire diagram info is from GM and pretty simple adaptor to make, only switching wire positions. It would be tough to test without the actual manifold swap as you would need to have car running to make throttle work and throttle won't bolt up to LS4 manifold

Make sure the pins are in the right order. The diagrams are both the female version.

This is the truck one.

A TAC Motor Control - 1
B Common Ground
C TAC Motor Control - 2
D Common Ground
E 5 Volt Reference
F TP Sensor 2 Signal
G TP Sensor 1 Signal

There's the exact same picture in my service manual with these as the descriptions.

The problem most people have when making a wire adaptor cable is keeping oriented as to front and rear of the plugs and wire positions. Looking at the digran above "A" pin is upper right when looking at plug from the front, but it would be upper left position when looking at plug from rear. I am pretty sure I got it right. You also have to make sure you are careful and have right tools to make an adaptor cable and have electrical continuity.

Default LS6 Manifold painted

Here is what the LS6 manifold and TB looks like painted with "annodize" paint.
I didn't take pics of the coils, but they are the red annodize color now.

Just a thought, but any suggestions on how to test out the adaptor cable? Can I start the engine, disconnect the cable to the stock LS4 TB and connect it to adaptor cable and LS6 truck TB, depress gas peddle and see if truck TB opens? Would this hurt anything?

This is why I said screw it, and am having a custom tb adapter casted this weekend. We already have the dimensions, and are good to go. We are also going to making extras. Hint... hint....
I sold my LS6 btw, going LS1 to cut costs and install nitrious. This car is done and its time to build something.

OK, NOW>>>>
When looking at your cable adaptor, looking at the back of the connectors...
The female connector to the Truck TB=A is upper left (top of connector has locking lug)
The male connector to existing LS4 cable= A is upper right.
It's confusing because one is male, one is female

Default A wire diagram

Remember, this shows the BACK of the connectors, the top of the connectors having the locking tab. I have labeled the wire letters

You don't have to start your car just turn the key forward to power everything up and step on peddle, the TB will open without having the vehicle running. Great job btw...

Well, thanks for the good words on the paint job. Not hard to do, just clean everything really well, use adhesion promoter (clear primer) and spray it. It's a 2 part system on non-chrome or non-silver/aluminum items. First you spray the silver metalic base coat, then the transparent color coat. Avalible in red, blue and purple around here. It works great right over chrome, no basecoat.
I will try hooking up the truck TB with the adapter cable soon and let you guys know if it works for me.

I don't think he was being condescending, just trying to help. Keep in mind that none of us can read tone over the internet.

Now somebody figure out if this is gonna work or not! LMAO!
