Mine's definitely my daily. I have a 104 mile round trip daily and enjoy every mile of it!
I'm hoping to have my truck back in operation for when the snow gets real deep this winter, but other than that, it'll see every mile.
I am careful though to keep the oil changed, the seats conditioned, the outside cleaned. And I take the roads that I know have the least amount of damage. It's mostly a highway trip but there are a few miles of country roads.

My Monte SS is also my DD. I drive 8 miles to a train station, and then 8 miles home, 5 days a week, and just drive where ever on the weekends. I bought it last February with around 16K miles on it and it now has 27K on the clock. So I'd say I put about 10K on a year. That seems like a lot considering my 16 mile daily commute.

Daily driven to/from work, and it's my primary family car because my wife's Buick is getting long in the tooth and doesn't have all of the safety features that mine does. She doesn't mind me hot rodding my DD within reason. The GXP sees about 20k a year. I average over 20mpg, and I sat down and figured out once that gas would have to hit about $8 a gallon for me to break even on a second car that averaged 35mpg, thanks to good old "No Fault" Michigan insurance.
I don't think of this car as weekend warrior material at all. It's a decently quick all season driver, but of course I had to make it quicker. Personally, a weekend car should either weigh less than 3000 lbs. (probably no fenders) or weigh over 5000 lbs. and have fins or bullet lights.

I did DD it before I started taking the train though (6 mi. commute)
So.... I've put a grand total of 3500 miles on it since I bought it in Jan 09 LOL

Who has lost their transmission? At 51k I don't get the shuddering yet that others have described as it's about to go; just a random weird 1-2 shift but still shifts fine at WOT. I will be getting the AAA roadside soon though...if I don't get rid of it. Every other month I post her up on craigslist but in the end I wind up keeping her.

still on my original tranny at 88,000 miles... no problems whatsoever - still strong as the day I got it...
have had my car tuned for 4.5 years as well, and even with the increased torque/power getting to the tranny, it has not affected it...
as an aside, I don't follow new vehicle break-in procedures by the book either... from the day I got it, I drove it like I wanted to... no babying it - if I wanted to get on it, i got on it! even a few gear-head techs I know at my service dept told me, don't be afraid to just get on it... that it helps to get things to seat correctly... so, I can't help but think that it does help.. because I've seen an aweful lotta monte/impala owners on here and over at naioa.com that have lost their trannie's already, and some people even 2, 3, or 4 times!!! d'oh!!
