I just finish installing tweeters in the door panels of my MC. I didnt really want to change anything to the factory system b/c to me it sound perfect just needed a tad bit more highs. The door panels were the most logical to put the tweets b/c the A-Pillars are to curved to mount them. The mounting location in the panels didnt affect the sound staging at all. All I did was tap into the factory tweeters and it makes a world of difference. Oh and the factory tweeters look very similar to the ones made by MB Quart. The tweeters i used were the Polk db1000, which came with crossovers which i didnt need to use b/c without them they played louder mostly b/c the factory tweets are probably all ready crossed over.
Here are some pics.

^^^ thanks... I used to have to turn the treble all the way up for better clarity but now i can just leave it at half way and it sounds so perfect.....it sort of adds a surround sound feeling to it.

Clean install and good placement! Does the Monte have a center channel? I noticed a big improvement in the highs when I upgraded the center channel with a component 3 1/2" because the stocker was just a single paper cone.
