I love my V1. Mounted up high and tight, hardwired, with a remote mute button (that I never really permanently mounted). My first "mod" after buying the Imp. Has helped me numerous times, and most recently when me and a Vette were tooling around on the freeway, dipping and diving at about 75-80. I got the signal for trouble up ahead, and they guy in the $50k+ car did not...so guess who got popped?!?! Yeah, not I.
Did I say I love my V1???
Only problem is that it is SO sensitive, it's easy to get a chirp, and not get another one for a couple seconds, so you tend to forget that there might be trouble up ahead. At least with the less expensive models, when you get a warning, you heed said warning and slow down since you don't have quite the reaction time.

I thought you might, but it seemed like you were leaning towards the Escort.
