Default Where does the LS2 intake rate?

I'm assuming LS4<LS1<LS2<LS6
Is this correct? Anything special about the LS2? They sure can be had a lot cheaper than LS6.

Yeah, I think you have the order right. Nothing too special about the LS2 intake. Tougher to fit on a LS4 than the LS6.

that right there should tell you something. The power difference isn't too much between the two intakes but the LS6 is definitely better.

As a side note the LS2 has a 90mm TB opening and the LS6 has a 78mm.

here's a cool link I found comparing the two intakes.

Looks like that LS6 intake manifold is quite the jewel then.

Rich one of the head r&d guys from fast said the ls1 and 2 flow almost the same. Ls6 will flow much better if u you are gonna do a cam swap down the road I would do the ls6.

Yeah, a DOD camshaft swap is in the books for me.

So I guess I'll be doing the LS6 intake manifold, DOD camshaft (Low or High or Custom Grind), headers, and exhaust.

Wow, good info. makes you wonder why GM developed the LS2, unless its purpose was to derate. GM knowing that gearheads would soon figure out to put the LS6 on.

I agree. I have read this in several places. LS2 manifold is no better than an LS1 manifold even with the 90mm opening. My "how to build a high performance LS1/6" book right in front of me says the same thing.

while were at it here's a good intake comparison page, scroll down about 3/4 to the graphs. BTW, there is an LS1 vs LS2 as well as LS2 vs LS6.
