Default Continental Extreme Contact DW

I purchased Continental ExtremeContact DW in 235-50-18 for my 06 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS and I would say that they are the best tires I have ridden on. Even my wife who is not a car person told me that the car rides so much better than when it was new. They came with Goodyear RSA and they lasted about 23k miles and rode OK then I went to BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDWS and they lasted 25k miles and they were OK.

I decided to try the Continental tires out due to the very good reviews from TireRack. W speed rated and they are excellent riding tires. Free shipping from tires.com

I've rolled BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 tires on my last few cars, including the GXP, and I don't plan on changing anytime soon......another really good one I have ran before are the Michelin Pilot Sports...they are the only other tire I would consider running besides the KDWs

I just purchased a set of Continental Extreme Contact DWS and they are the best tire i've ridden on. Smooth ride. Great grip.....just can't take corners about 25 or you'll get squeeling.

I'm getting the Continental DWS installed on Monday. Talked them down to $785

They have been getting some awsome reviews.

I got 45,000 miles out of the stock tire but they were pretty much garbage since day one.

Get the Continental Extreme DW instead of the DWS if you live in a warm weather state. The DW is a summer tire and better performance. I have had the BF Goodrich and the Continental is hands down a better performance tire. The BF Goodrich does not get good ratings while the DW gets rave reviews.

Got my Continental ExtremeContact DW for a great price and free shipping. The DW is not rated on Tirerack yet, but the DWS is the best rated on Tirerack. They are the best tire I have ridden on. I live in a warm weather state so I got the DW. I was not pleased with the Goodyear nor the BF Goodrich........................Both are made by Goodyear.

Customer Review Ratings on TireRack

Goodyear RSA .........................................Rated.... .....5.5
BF Goodrich G-Force TA KDWS...................Rated.........6.9
Continental Extreme Contact DWS...............Rated.........8.7

The Bridgestone Potenzas that came on the GXP from the factory were developed by Bridgestone SPECIFICALLY for the GXP. All other tires Pontiac tried on the car during product development were causing understeer, so they had Bridgestone specially make these for these cars.

I'm running these tires now, after killing a set of Sumitomos in less than 20,000 miles. So far, so good. Ride is good and hadnling is decent. The only thing I don't like is the look.

I've got about 14k miles on my Goodrich G-Force KDW's and I love them. They are way stickier than the stock Potenza's, and they are without a doubt the best rain tires I've ever owned. Running 255-45/18 on the front and 235-50/18 on the rear

Those look badass...Makes me hate the look of my Conti's even more!

You gotta let us know how they wear.

You can compare tires on tirerack.com for traction and all that. There's some other Potenzas that actually rate better than the ones that came stock on the car, but those ratings aren't specific to GXPs, they are just specific to the tires on whatever they tested them on.

For what it's worth, I just bought a set of four Potenza Pole Position tires for our Z28 and it drives like a dream. They were the highest rated tires and second most expensive in the 245/50 R16 size. Couldn't be happier with how the car rides.
