tranny

i have a transgo shift kit. Some people have a tranny built from TEP when there's self destructs. I will have one when/if mine does. Transgo is quick and simple to install. Some people get a tune done but I don't have it done. From what I heard you should only do one but not both.

My '05 GXP tranny is trashed- I priced out a certfied GM (cause they built it so good on the 1st attempt) 3yr-36K for 3K installed....I'm wondering if its worth it?!?

tranny build
I'm going with a TEP but if you are looking for a cheaper build try Jasper. Their build is specked out along the lines of the GM but they added a hardened input shaft and comes with a 3 year warranty. From what I understand the installers cost for the tranny is $1605.

Priced at install cost looks to be about $200 more than GM...Never owned anything but Pontiac but 64K and the trannies gone

Mine hates me. But there's an underlying theory on here that beating on it helps it survive. I flog the hell out of mine, racing every weekend, running up the mountain, manually downshifting, no torque management, no diff anti-score, high line pressure (everything's cranked up in the tune), and I'm still together at 54k. I have always said mine's on the verge of coming apart, guess we'll see. It's all just a waiting game now.

yeah, I've got just about 93,000 miles on my car now... still original stock tranny, and no issues whatsoever... still running VERY strong....
