Default Cutout guys, get in here.

OK, now that I have your attention. I noticed today that my car feels faster with the cutout closed. Is my not having any back pressure killing my performance? I don't have any data, just a butt dyno feeling. First time it's been completely closed for a good long while.

Also, we temporarily cleared my CEL and it was a very noticeable difference, lol. Ready to get the sensor tuned out.

Where my cat used to be. All I have is the cutout out and mufflers. And untuned if it matters...

i think i know what you are talking about.....with it closed it feels like it accelerates faster from a stop then it does with it open but with it open the top end feels stronger.

Might just be your mind tricking you...since its that much louder at part throttle it seems like your on the throttle harder than you really are. When my cutout is closed I ease on to the throttle a lot harder since you can't hear it lol therefore I haul more *** with it closed.

Back pressure is a myth! When properly tuned your car will make more power with a free-flowing exhaust. Personally I think this myth was perpetrated by tree huggers so you don't remove your cat.

I agree it does feel like it pulls much stronger down low with the cutouts closed, but it has a very noticeable difference when open at the high end of second gear for me. Add some spray to that and all bets are off...

I also feel more "power" with it closed, but hopefully when I get my tune it will be the opposite.

probably losing torque down low. the more restriction with it closed probably acts similarly to a smaller dia. pipe which often times will create more torque. but less hp
