Another exhaust idea... thoughts?

Another exhaust idea... thoughts? I want to try something a little different. Its my daily driver and I don't want anything too loud, especially at cruising speed. With performance in mind of course.
I was thinking about using 3 bullet style mufflers. Like dynomax race series. In place of the factory resonator, have a 3 inch and where the factory mufflers are use 2.5 inchers.
Thoughts anyone?

Sounds good. I have a 3" bullet sytle resonator on my car. Straight through design and controls drone pretty good. I went with 2 1/4 for my mufflers. I wanted to keep most of the low end grunt and it flows way better than stock up top. You'll notice the exhaust will get a lower rumble with the headers. It sounds way better than the factory manifolds with the same set-up. Just my opinion...

Ok... I've never had a vehicle with a resonator... What's the purpose of it? I was just going to use 3 mufflers. Is there even a difference?
I'd actually like to find a way to make it sound like a crotch rocket...

That bullet muffler is very similar to a resonator. Almost identical... The purpose of a resonator is to try and eliminate vibration and drone. Not sure if you could make a V-8 sound like that. Be the first to try it...

Oh Ok... That's kind of what I figured.
My friend's Z06 sounds like that... Very raspy. I think a lot of that has to do with the routing though. I'm going to try the triple race bullets. Just don't it to be way loud.

I tried Flowmasters. Too loud for me and the drone would rattle your teeth. I replaced them with some Magnaflows and could not be happier. I lost low end TQ with the Flowmasters and picked it back up the the Magnaflows. I also dynamatted my trunk and trunk lid too. Made a world of difference. I can actually talk to someone in my car now and the 2000 - 2500 rpm drone is gone by about 80 - 90%. Sounds great on the outside.

What makes the MF quiet is the cat. I run the MF XL Turbo's though. All I know is mine is not quiet by any means on the outside. Many people take a second look to see what's making all the noise. lol...

Mine is Headers, straight through 30" ss bullet resonator, to the MF XL Turbo's. I love the sound, def. better than stock, even with the resonator removed. Not much drone on the inside but sounds awesome on the outside. This is exactly what I was after.
