There is near endless information and swap threads on fiero.nl detailing putting the 3800's in fieros... it has been documented hundreds of times and they can be made to perform very, very well. There are multiple vendors who will sell you every part needed to perform the swap
There are maybe 5 LS4 fieros up and running right now and probably another 5-10 in the works. All the completed ones so far have kept the 4T65 and that is the easiest way to go... So far no vendor is setup to sell you everything to perform this swap unless you spend around 10K for for a turnkey swap, so there will be a fair amount of fabrication and welding for the DIYer.
Running a manual on the LS4 will require some extensive fabrication either to the oil pan or the transmission case to make room for the starter. I already have a F40 6 speed modified to mount a starter to it that would work for an LS4/F40 swap (it is being used on a 4.3 swap) and I will be modifying another one shortly for an LS4/F40 build.

I still have my old ls4 from my grand prix with a spun bottom end bearing. If you wouldn't be afraid to rebuild the bottom end I'll sell it cheap. I still need to pull the pan and see what actually happened. Most likely rod bearing. It had 72k. I thought about putting in in a Fiero myself but don't have the time.
