It is sweet that is for sure. There is one guy on here that did an ls4 swap I think it was an ls4 anyway. Did a whole interior swap at the same time. Cool stuff do a search it was a sweet build. Blue car if I remember. Love the fiero.

It'd be a fun swap, I'm sure there's a ton of info on the 3800 swap.

I really would like to turn my 96 Crown Vic into a project. 5.4L, bolt ons, trans, and a lot of juice. It'd raise some eyebrows lol

That car was nuts. He did a LOT of custom work on that one.

While you're there, check out BLKCOFY and Rickaddy's completed LS4 swaps. There's currently a couple of other LS4 swap threads underway, and always lots of discussion on 3800s

If I was starting over, I'd probably be turboing a 3500 instead of a 3.2.

I did a V8 Fiero swap about 10 years ago. The motor was a 355 small block Chevy that made about 330 HP. The mistake I made was using the automatic that came with the car. I had it built as strong as it could be done, but at that time, there were no real race parts for the TH-125c, so I had to get it rebuilt 3 times. I finally sold the car.

Since you can probably find a 3800SC dropout with tranny, you won't have that problem, but I would recommend going with a manual trans.

Another possibility that I was thinking about was swapping the LNF 2.0 liter DI turbo from the Cobalt. Out of the box, they make 260 HP and with staging kits go well over 300. And since it's all-aluminum, it'll handle much better than an all-iron 3800.

There's probably a lot less surgery involved, too.

There's a few people trying, but the need for a transmission mounted starter with the LS4 means a lot of fabrication...

There are a lot of guys doing the L67 swap in them around here. I know of at least 3 personally and some I have never met. Many of them go here www.nepontiac.org

I'd do the L67 since it would be easier and the potential for more affordable power is there.

Lets see, Chevette front suspension, X-body FWD drivetrain and suspension mounted in the rear, maximum 140 HP from the factory.

YEP, this probably was about as close to a Ferrari as GM was capable of building a vehicle in the 80s.

Except for the Corvette, GM hasn't really made a worthwhile sports car.
