Easiest thing and can be made to look good and you know it will hold is to cut the bottom out of the air box keeping the parts that hold it to the body as well as the part that hold the ECM, take it out cut it, sand it, and paint it...I have to get mine painted and I will post pics.

That is why I went with Silicone, it doesn't conduct heat so much, but yeah ceramic coat for best looks, of wrap will give similar results, post pics when you get it in Hawkins

I think you're on the right track Haulin... I like the way your bends worked. Mine will be very similiar except I'm making a plate to bolt to the fender. The plate will have a short straight piece welded through it. On the engine side it will look like what you have except it will go to the plate, and into the fender i'm going to use the silicone since you won't be able to see it.
I only have the fender plate roughly done, not exaxctly fitted to the car yet.
Friday is pay day and I'll be calling jegs for a list to be sent my way!

Getting a lot closer. I only get a few minutes every few days to work on it.
The plan is to weld a straight section through this and a silicone 90 in the fender and a setup like Haulin's only in 3.5.

Well... I'm getting closer but there is still A LOT left to do. When it's all said and done i'll post the finished product.
However... I'd like to get some opinions on the finish...
1. Powder coat the bends red
2. Ceramic coated flat black
3. No finish, wrapped entirely in header wrap.
I personally am leaning toward 2 or 3; more towards 3, by the time I get done fitting everything up there may not be much of the bends left and all you see will be the couplers.

The filter is a K&N, 4 inch inlet, 5 inches tall.
Once I get everything in it's final place I will have to see how much of the metal you can actually see. I have a lot of trimming to do to all pieces to get it lined up like I want.
