New Firebird?!?!?! One of the guys I work with saw this car on I94 near Detroit and got some pics with his cell phone. It had a manufactures test plate on it. The other thing I noticed was the 455 on the hood scoop and the LTR sticker on the front fender. Not sure whats up with it but looks kinda cool.

IIRC didnt they release a bodykit conversion or something for a car to make it look like this?

its a kit you can get for the new camaro. they have 2 different ones.

FYI- "test cars" usually don't have any emblems or engine stickers on them. Hell sometimes they even have parts of them covered with plastic so you cant fully identify what it is.
I like the car though.

And here's the one I saw last year at the TA nationals in Dayton OH.
The 2nd gen look, i.e., the 70-73 style tail lights, doesn't work on a 1st gen (retro) body style, but the rest of it is looking sharp.

Aside from the recessed headlamps on the blue and white ones(like1971), I like it. That looks great, but... eh... The black one... Oh yeah! I even dig the "TRANS AM" decal on the rear. Were that to say basically anything else, I'd say it's too large and loud.
It was funny to see that 1st pic, of the driver taking a pic of whoever was photographing him... heh.
