Went to the dealership just to browse around and see what they had in stock and i was staring at a 04 Dodge Viper SRT-10 with 1000 miles on it. Salesman comes up to me and starts talking to me about it, then he asked me if i was interested in the Camaro SS. I say not really and then he asks me if i want to test drive it so i accepted. Got in and im only 5 ft 8 inches and it felt like being stuffed in a sardine can. Not to mention the blind spots in the car. Started it up and it had a quiet rumble to it. Took it to the track out back and was not impressed by the overall drive. The ride was indeed smooth but it didnt have that thrust that my impala has (probably because im straight piped) but it will get me on higher speeds. Idk if it was just that particular car but i just was not impressed by it. Not to mention the car was just heavy as hell. I thought 400 horses would push better than that

Don't feel so bad I am kinda on the fence myself with that car also. I think I like a '94 better. I would say '93 but the gauges are **** yellow.
Its fast no doubt but its alittle weird...and I am 6'0 280 broad shouldered... it wasn't easy either.

LS motors take some time break in. They don't really start to run "right" until they hit about 20,000. All 5 LS-powered cars I've had were like this.
Anyway, auto or manual, we all would get owned by ANY 2010 Camaro SS unless we had a power-adder of some sort.

I've driven two new '10SS cars, one auto, the other a manual. The auto felt sluggish but you could tell the power was there. The manual LS3 car had some awesome power but the same complaints remain about the overall make up of the car:
1. It's too heavy.
When I stomp on the Monte, the converter flashes and we're off and running. In the Camaro, it felt like there's plenty of horsepower on tap but the car is held back, neutered if you will, by its poundage.
2. Overall visibility.
I have never really had trouble with visibility in my car, but the short rollup glass, the tiny rearview mirror, the large rear pillars really make me feel like I am driving in a pit that I can't see out of at all. Not to mention the football-field long hood that is at eye level when driving. The driving position takes some time to get used to.

ever race an LT1 vs and LS1 camaro?? I did. I got the LS1 off the line all the time. The thing is the LS1 makes it power up top and its reels cars in. WHere the LT1's power is gone top end..
Kinda like our cars..kinda an inigma for an LS engine.

Well if the camaro is limited by its "poundage" your IMP is limited by GM's lack of vision in making it FWD. I owned a 2000 SS monte. Great car, looked awesome, torque steered like a ****. I can only imagine how much worse it would be with an LSx motor connected to the transaxle.
Sorry bro, but new the Camaro SS would romp your Impala Manual or Auto, Roll or Dig.

I have very little torque steer. It surprised a friend of mine the first time he drove it he was expecting it get him. The 275s may help.
The Camaro may be faster, but it sure isn't nice to like at...
