Default New cat back. Check.

Pulled the 07 into the shop at 6am this morning. Old system down in less time than it takes to change your shorts. Pieced the Magnaflow system together, tweaked it, snugged it. Put the bad boy down on all four tires, and fired it up. Man, I am having a good day already. Although, it's been a while since I've bolted on a cat back, and forgot just how good the smell of all the greases and oils burning off actually is.

Need to still do some final tweaks, but I'll get to that later, as now I can use the drive on lift to monkey with it.

Awesome! Any first impressions on sound quality and fit? And you'll have to let us know about exhaust drone inside the car when you drive it home. I hate drone!

I was really really impressed by the quality and fit of the Magnaflow kit PN16727. All stainless system plus they give you the really nice wide style clamps that have the spaces, so you can't over tighten it. Having done a few exhaust kits in various vehicles, trucks mostly, the quality of this one is hands down the best I have seen so far. My truck system of choice was always Gibson, and they are no slouch either when it comes to their product.

Working front to back the kit goes together pretty quickly. Yet again I was impressed with the quality and how perfectly things fit. Their is plenty of adjustment if you need to tweak angles and such. None of the pipes were ovaled on the ends during shipping, so that was a plus. Packaging is probably the best I have seen for a cat back as well, everything was bubbled wrapped like a pro, tips came through with no blemishes either. You need virtually no tools for the job, save an air gun for the two bolts at the flange after the cat and tightening the clamps down. Just make sure when you start from the front that each clamp is nice and tight before moving along to avoid any issues. A post jack does make holding some of the pieces up in place easier, but is not 100% necessary.

When you get to the tips, you need to make sure you have that half inch all the way around the bumper cover cut out. The clearance there is quite tight, looks great though. The tips are massive compared to the stockers. I have to go back and adjust them a little when the opportunity presents itself, as the shop was beginning to open and I needed to get back to the parts department.

When I first got my MF exhaust, I thought it sounded awesome. But once it started to get broken in, I thought it started to sound more like stock to me. So I invested in a cutout. With the cutout on it sounds amazing. I now have a CL downpipe sitting in my basement that I have yet to put on (hopefully soon). But once that is on, I think it will wake up the sound of the MF's.

Update: Drove for the weekend and put a few miles on.

Have yet to get a sound clip, so that is still in the works, and when I put it on the drive on lift, ill grab some pictures as well. Highway driving: cruised quite a bit in the 65-70mph range. The sound is great, windows down you can still hear the rumble but it is not oppressive or a constant drone that would put you to sleep. I still have my factory cat, and I used the resonator included with the Magnaflow kit. Wanted something that was noticeably different in the stock tone and a touch louder, but not over bearing. This kit truly fits the bill. I am happy with the fit and finish, as well as ease of installation, sound quality, everything actually. The only drawback to the system, it looks so good, that it is a shame to be hidden underneath the car. After driving it for a few days, it actually sounds quite a bit better. If any major sound changes occur, I will make sure to update the thread as well. And will work on snagging some pictures and sound clips.

If you don't mind me asking, How much did you pay for the kit? I'm anxiously waiting to see some pics and hear a sound clip!

I went through a site called performance peddlars. Guessing it's more like a giant warehouse type deal. As for price, 616.00, which, truth be told is the least expensive I have seen it anywhere, and I've hunted around for quite some time.
