Christmas in August Update
Engine and Transmission is now out of the car. Lifters and new oil pump arrived today. I won't be able to start tearing the engine down until next Monday. When I took off the tires they looked really worn down on the inside. It almost look like they had been on a lathe, the car had a front end alignment last June ??? I will post some pictures up tomorrow. For all you guys out there who turn a wrench for a living my hat is off to you guys. This is the very first time I have been involved in something like this. Hand on heart, the most I have ever done to a car, up until this year, is changing the spark plugs...last Oct I changed out the intake. So today was very exciting, overwhelming and satisfying. Tomorrow I go back to a less stressful and easier job...teaching high schoolers

Hopefully I am wrong, but a little back of the envelope math and some assumptions about the valves not being happy with the little LS4 bore, I would go even lower than DavidGXP at 310 to the ground, however the big unknown is the ls1 intake. I believe the intake is a huge restriction on the LS4's and could be worth another 10 horses with a cam. So I am in for 320 horse to the ground. My personal belief is that he will have to spin that cam up to the moon to make those numbers though and it will not be a terribly good street cam. Too much duration and too much LSA even for our little engines. The wide LSA seems to be a band-aid to mask too much duration in the LS1's and it will be a little more tame in our cars, even with the 20ish cubes less displacement magnifying the duration increase effect. Anyway, enough rambling, hopefully it changes the power curve to exactly what the OP is looking for! 320 horses to the ground is my estimate.
