So Kevin has only one turbo at the group buy cost left? Man, if I could scrounge up 4k really quickly, I would be in! I just cannot get that kinda scrilla that quickly....It is going to take a while to save. I am just trying to bounce ideas off you all so when I do go my route, I am doing it with an educated opinion and not just arbitrarily buying things that wont work. So, lets say that I go the N/A route, do you think that I would be satisfied with the results of just buying bolt ons?

what we should do is try and make a sticky with the parts and the power people got with them. i think that would really help out as to what is a good mod and what is not worth the time or the money. i think you would be pretty happy with some bolts-on though. my .02 cents

Agreed. I'd rather spray than run a non-ic turbo.

The hot air Buicks were slow and prone to detonation. Once they added the intercooler, the cars became the legends.

He's not trying to run 10's. An LS4 can't even run enough boost to take advantage of such a large turbo. On top of that, the lag is gonna be pretty insane unless he puts 3000 stall converter in it at the very least. He did say this is for a daily driver, and I can tell you, it's no fun to have a DD with a ton of stall or really bad turbo lag.

He would do fine with a TA-49 or TE-44. He could use the stock converter and the lag wouldn't be too ridiculous.

With turbos, the combo is important and bigger isn't always better.

I just read the post in the group buy for the non-intercooled setup and since I do not own a GXP, I have to buy extra parts to ensure proper fitting.... I really don't like the idea having to do that. That is more money on top of a $3500 plus price tag to get the turbo to your house. I just want to that if I choose to go N/A will I be satisfied with putting your basic bolt-ons (i.e. headers, cam, ls1 intake swap, rockers, and if I get real frugal new heads). I plan on rebuilding the tranny and putting 3.29 gears and upgrading several internal components to support whichever way I choose.
-note: this is a daily driven car.

well like I said before, I am just now getting the research portion done for these mods. I want to go into this fully informed of what I am getting myself into. I want to use you all as Guinea pigs and pick your brains.

If you wanna get serious and make some really good N/A power then consider this....
http://www.trickflow.com/egnsearch.a...2&autoview=sku
Kit comes with Harland Sharp bolt on roller rockers. Not shown in the pic
Combine this with DT headers, LS6 intake, Katec valley cover and Brians396 TB adapter
and make some super power that is street friendly. Yes.. it will fit, and tuning required. Next step would be 3.29 gears and a converter.
The only other items needed would be 8 std valve lifters and new lifter buckets.

http://www.summitracing.com/search/?...-455-425&dds=1 2900.00 through Summit plus you could always sell your LS6 heads to offset the cost.

Thanks, David! by ls6 heads, you mean ls4? I have looked at kits like that in summit. I just did not know that a 5.3 truck package would work for it.

I'm pretty sure they are the same casting but valve/chamber size is different.

You're right. I chose a T70 with plans of swapping heads to drop compression and going with the Z06 cam down the road. Not necessarily to run 10s but 11s would be nice.

I have reason to believe that we have the same size valves as every otehr 243 head.
