07 Impala SS open headers
07 Impala SS open headers Went to the track last night with afew guys from LSXNation and Grrrr8 and ended up popping a clamp off from the headers to the exhaust before the cat(i think). All I know is that the car sounds amazing now, but I'm just asking to get pulled over!! I'm taking it tomorrow to get it welded shut so it doesn't happen again, then I'm going to get my cutout put on too.

Horrible!
Only ran twice before this happened then I stopped.
1st run was a 15.99- got off the line then hit a slick spot around the 60' and let off, got back on when I stopped spinning banged off the rev limiter in the 2-3 shift.
2nd run was a 14.49- I was shifting it manually. Over revved 1-2(car didn't shift when I shifted it), then again on the 2-3 but I let out a little early cause thats when my car when from quiet to SUPER loud and I wasn't sure what it was.
I'm gonna get it welded up, wait for some colder weather and then try it again, maybe at a track with better prep.

i remember when i was getting my res cut out and new mufflers welded up, the car was up on the lift and i talked the guy into letting me remote start it while it was up there ...
well i was standing behind the car looking straight up into what was left of the exhaust and started it ...
i almost told him to straight pipe it ... there was a good 10 seconds of inner turmoil, mainly ... "am i going to be able to leave a stoplight if a cop is next to me?" especially a chicago cop ?
