05 gp gxp vs 2010 camaro V6
ok so i lined up with a completely stock lime green 2010 V6 camaro we went from a dig and after launch we stayed pretty much dead even but once we hit 190-200 Km/h he pulled ahead from behind me i have a triple edge tranny, cold air intake. i also removed the mufflers and replaced them with pipe out the back. the thing is i feel almost like my car is slower with the tranny

Well, our cars suck on the top-end. We have the heads for high-RPM power, but our shitty intake and exhaust manifolds are huge restrictions.
I'm not surprised that he pulled away at those speeds. I am a little shocked that you didn't get him out of the hole, though. Was he an automatic or manual?

yes!! i think a tune would be the best thing i've also been working on it i found a guy that deals with hp tuners near me now i just need to find out the costs and see if i could get this lew tune (how do i get this?)that would also make sense because my biddy has a cobalt ss stage 2 that i beat before my tranny blew, raced him after with the TEP tranny and he pretty much walked me although he did he a catbak exhaust wile my tranny was getting done. i need to get ahold of this lewtune!! and find out the costs but i will probably make this 3 inch catless downpipe soon thats sposed to add hp right?

will i be shunned if i said that i really havent had mine over 4500rpm for like 2-3 weeks because gas jumped up well over $3.15 a gallon here ??? - and now that i got a sub+box/ amp in the trunk that arent fully mounted in yet, i wont be using the go pedal til im sure that they are going to go bouncing around back there
I hate that people dont know enough about our cars to even look over in traffic and know there is something next to them that has the potential to smoke them ... the only thing i ever get trying to race me is older Fbodies with obvious work, newer mustangs, or STI/ EVO's from a light ( uhh no thanks dude )
i was trying to get a newer camaro V6 to race about a month ago but he wouldnt even look over at me ... and we were at a nearly 20 second red light and after creeping up, revving a little and even honking once he wouldnt even acknowledge me ... so green light and
at the next light he wouldnt even get near me ...

well he was in a v6 camaro. he most probably didnt buy that car to drag race people. also i wouldnt be afraid to drag race an evo, sti,or newer mustang. a loss is a loss, but once again in stock form theyre really not that fast. and i dont care what a car is capable of (to an extent) its what the driver is capable of. now the new 5.0 id run knowing full well that it would be a pounding unless shifts were missed or some other human error.

i could personally care less. im the furthest thing from concerned about it. at the end of the day win or lose the guy driving his v6 "pony car" is still a loser in my book.

I may get flamed for this, but what is the problem with driving a V6 Camaro or 2011 V6 Mustang? The V6's have come a long way, and as long as you aren't a typical ricer going around telling everyone how fast your car is, they are a great buy. The new Stang V6 is very quick, gets great gas mileage, handles well, and looks nice. Granted, I would buy the V8, but I definitely see the purpose of the V6.
Also, since they sell way more V6's, without them I really doubt that their V8 counterparts would even exist because Ford and GM couldn't justify the low V8 sales volume.

I wouldn't think anything of one if I pulled up next to it at a red light. Whether it be a Monte/GXP/etc... Do those have the same engines?
Not a complete breakdown.. Just a brief overview if you would.

What do these cars run? I am into cars (obviously the LS platform) and know NOTHING about this part of it.

They run in the 13.8-14.2 range stock... yes the monte ss, impala ss, gp gxp from 07' on up have the ls4. Although imo the l67 3800 supercharged engine was my favorite platform from 1997-2006. Pulley, gutted box, tune and mid 13's is achieveable and still net 30mpg on the hwy.

1st of all, I don't see anything wrong with the new V6 Stang and Camaro, and I don't give a damn who has debated it.
2nd, the V8 pony cars wouldn't even exist without these"gay" V6's.
You are entitled to your opinion as I am to mine. Let's agree to disagree.
