I would be more interested in a s/c rather than a turbo.... I just like the idea of having a V8 w/ a s/c rather than a turbo... To me, turbo's should belong on a ricer or something other than a v8... Call me old fashioned...

Says the guy with 22s. jfwy. Turbos are easier for power gains, tuning as opposed to pulley swaps. Locally we have a twin turbo C5, turbo LS1 Camaro, and a few others. Turbos aren't 'rice'.

This is a good idea, but its for LS3 Heads?
http://www.chevypartsplus.com/produc...engines-p-8627

This is low profile toooo... And maybe dont run that long belt drive system, instead wrap the serpentine belt around the pulley.... hm.............

An Maybe DIS!

Our accessory system is in a different location in relation to the heads. A centrifugal system would be hard to fit (unless we did a shaft drive *hint* *hint*) and a roots type would require a different or modified length snout.

nope, when your not on the throttle the air is bypassed around the rotors. The only loss you get is from the parasitic loss created by spinning the SC which is maybe ~ 1 mpg. Turbo is even more forgiving as it only creates a slight increase in backpressure.

True, I emailed them. Ill post up what they say. Heres my Email:

Sir,

I've been looking for ways to modify my LS4 FWD V8 Grand Prix GXP. This particular engine shares the same heads as a LS2 they are 243 Castings. The MP112 kit would be perfect for us due to the fact that pulley is on the opposite side of the throttle body. We can run it off our serpentine belt setup.

There is a lot of us out there and major companies are starting to step up and provide parts for our unique cars. GM has put the LS4 in many platforms. Doug Thorley is producing headers and Cartuning is producing a turbo kit. Not all of us want to go turbo either.

Let me know if there is anything we as a hole can do and I hope you will please consider the bastard childs of the LS engine platforms (LS4's).

GM Enthusiast,

Greg

Ehhhh originally wrote out somehting really long...but I'm an *******. Turbos make everything better, regardless of whether its an import or domestic. They also have the capacity to make more usable power with less exertion on the drive train parts. You're an idiot.

Easy now big guy....

lol

Properly set up turbos are better in every application they're in. The only thing that comes close is nitrous and its only downfall is that the bottles need refilling.

Because they don't see the potential or because the letter lacked proof reading?

yeah, they are ricey, I mean it's not like an American car was the first turbocharged mass-produced vehicle back in 1962 by Oldsmobile with an aluminum V8, methyl alky injected, and four speed tranny or anything. Oh....wait, it was.

For some reason, the movie Tommy Boy comes to mind after reading your post.

"I'm starting to pick up on your sarcasm."

"Well, I should hope so, because I'm laying it on pretty thick."

"Ricer" needs a better definition. Try calling all the guys who own a turbo'd V8 Camaro/Vette/Trans Am/GTO etc, a ricer and see what happens lol.

Rice, race inspired cosmetic enhancements. Not all imports are rice, rice is cars with awful kits or wings. A lot of ugly appearance mods and no power, regardless of manufacturer. My car is rice-ish because of the spray bombing.

I've seen Cobras ditch the supercharger for a twin turbo setup, also the fastest Grand Prix has a twin turbo setup.
