I, for one, love this thread. You do absolutely awesome work and I wish I could do with my car what you do with so many cars.

Why the switch in product? Just trying something new?

Thanks. This was my second season of doing detailing as a side job to put some extra cash in my pocket. My first year I booked probably half of my available days. This year I had a detail every day I had available so word of mouth got around. With my volume doubling and actually having to turn a few people down I started to look at my expenses since I was using more product during the season. While Adams does have some good products in their line it really isnt cost effective what so ever when doing this as a job.

I started doing research on other detailing websites about other products that worked as good, and in some cases better, while also being cheaper. I have a few products of Adam's that I will still use like their In and Out Spray but for the most part my detailing cabinet has Meguiars Professional line for all my cleaners, Menzerna polishes which perform a lot better then Adams as far as the amount of cut and how they finish, Wolfgang, Blackfire, Pinnacle, and CarPro. I have been trying out new products to see what works best for me while still keeping me in the black after a detail. Adams did get me all of my knowledge when it comes to correcting paint and all my processes so I give them a lot of credit when it comes to my success but in the end I had to find products that kept more money in my pockets.

here was a fun one that i was very glad to be done with in the end

I just finished this one up today and man did it beat me up. It was hazards280 G8 and man do they have a lot of paint so trying to get this done in a timely manner was a challenge. I am pretty damn sore from head to toe from this one but its all in a days work. The car was in overall clean but the paint needed some fixing. After measuring the paint and seeing it was around 130-140 mils so I decided to go with Menzerna Power Finish 2500 then Menzerna Super Finish 4500. I was initially going to go with Menzerna Fast Gloss 400 until I saw the readings on the paint gauge. I know G8's are notorious for thin paint and soft clears so I approached it as such. I used my Flex 3401 with an orange Lake Country hybrid pad for the Menzerna Power Finish 2500 and a grey finished pad for the Menzerna Super Finish 4500. I topped the car with Menzerna Power Lock and Wolfgang Fuzion Estate Wax. The rims were cleaned with Wolfgang Uber Wheel Cleaner and the tires were cleaned with Meguairs Super Degreaser. The tires were dressed with Poorboy's Bold n Bright and wheel wells got Chemical Guys Bare Bones. Windows were cleaned with Pinnacle Window cleaner with repellent. This is by far my favorite car that I have gotten to work on because of the color and the overall outcome. The owner had some very tasteful mods done to the car which helped as well. There are a lot of after pics as well lol. On with the show.

Many Detail shops charge as much as double and don't do as good of a job as you...

for ex. = my dealership

It's nice to see someone who really cares about cleaning cars properly
