I have been in warranty for a very long time, from the side of the manufacturer, however, not GM.
Anyways, do what she says. Get her name, see if you can talk to her boss. The key is to be VERY kind, AND, keep in your back pocket the knowledge that they have had many issues with these transmissions.
Can you show that it was serviced properly? Not modified? Previous and future GM customer? I know you have mods in your sig, but you know what i'm saying. Again, be nice but knowledgeable. It's a fine line. If you're too nice and they think they can tell you no then they will just because it's easier. If you're nice but they think it you'll make a big deal, it may be different. If you're an *** to them, forget it.
Request that GM provides goodwill warranty coverage due to the known failures this transmission experiences and the fact it's only a month and 12k over.

I appreciate it man. I took her name, number and all the other info. Im going to get it diagnosed saturday. Do you think they would blame the tranny going bad because of the intake and the exhaust? I still have my catalyic converter on there. i just hope they do something about it or work something out with me at least

So you're willing to waste $1500 because it's a "headache" to try to get GM to cover it?
.......... I wish I had that much extra $$$ laying around to throw around because it's a "headache"....

Thats what I am trying to say..
If mine goes a few months out of warranty I would be calling GM telling them that both GM and I know that the FWD trans on the LS4 powered cars are failing and this failed only a short time out of warranty? I would be calling every day.
The way trans have been droppin on this car I am surprised that there is no TSB on it.
if your going to shell out 1500 thats fine man but I would be trying to get GM to cover thier mistake.

From the sound of it this trans should never have been mated to a V8! It barely held up in a supercharged V6.
GM has a 4T80 in the Northstar cars, why not these LS4's?

I don't think the 4T80 would fit.
Also the extra cost of development probably outweighed the cost of replacing/rebuilding the total number of expected failures while under warranty.
These weren't designed to be performance/sports based cars....just fun cruisers.
