It's all good brother. It just goes to show you how much GM cares.

and if you build it for 1500..then it should not blow if he does it right. 1500 is cheap for a build

I was surprised as well believe me. i just hit 60k miles on that sunday going to my football game so i was highly upset about that. i was looking at the AAA aftermarket warranty. they cover everything pretty much.

I'm thinking the forward servo/ servo circuit is blowing by. Could be a cracked piston. Do you have reverse?

Sexy car....because of the sexy paint. lol

Man i'd be pissed if my tranny went out, but like you said gives you an excuse to build it up.

If you manually up shifted it, you should have 3rd and 4th. If the forward servo/ forward one way clutch were bad you would not be able to accelerate from a stop in with the selector in Drive and Overdrive. If you try what I said initially, you would have localized the problem. It is repairable providing you can gain acess to the rear of the transmission.

Sounds like a bad forward apply band to me. This is the classic symptom.

Unfortunately, fixing that requires a complete teardown, and there's no easy way to get to it without taking the whole tranny apart.

If it is the Forward Band then you would need to open the case remove all the parts. If its the servo then the engine would have to be supported and the rear of the frame lowered to gain access to the servo cover which is held by 3 bolts. In my experiances, I've seen more servos fail. I cannot say I have seen a band fail but I guess theres a first time for everything. To check out the servo, you would need two jack stands, a jack and or transmission floor jack, hand tools, and a couple of hours.

According to Dave at TEP, it's pretty common.
