niteshades is the **** ... like in the good way of using the word **** to describe something ... like cool, good, great, easy, CHEAP and relatively simple ...
the overlay is bound to get torn up, warp, or peel away within a few seasonal changes and or car washes ... where as with painting them, clear coat with black in it like flip does, or niteshades ( done properly which includes lots of sanding and waiting around) and then cleared you can probably get them to last as long as the paint on your car ...
i did mine around june or so and have a significant coat of clear over them, and they get polished and buffed just like the rest of the car ... i even did a write up on how to do it properly over on montecarloforum, let me know if you want the link ...

Flip's tinted tails are the way to go since you can choose how dark or how light you want them. He did the tails on my G8 and my GP CompG and they came out great. In the 5 years I have been driving around with his tinted tails I have never been pulled over. Plus the tinting is very durable and lasts for many years to come, unlike the tint overlays.
