after rooting you can flash new roms, that people have hacked from other phones ... an update that you would more than likely not get, if ever from AT&T ... and get the features that froyo would offer you over whatever build of android youre running now ...

heres a guide with how to root your phone with latest software to upgrade the radio and recovery ...
all of these are much easier explained in guides already out there, or over the phone ... typing is interrupting my reading right now ...
im loving my NOOK, but cant wait to exchange it for the NOOK color, root it and then do this with it ... on top of everything it would do stock for half the price of an ipad or galaxy tab ...
