Kinda dumb tie rod question/help.....
Ya, Im havin trouble with the lock nut on the outer tie rod end........dont have air tools, only hand tools. I bought a c-clamp vise lock pliers, the stud still spins with the nut. Tried using my vise lock pliers on the bottom of the stud while turning the nut, stripped my vise lock pliers and destroyed the bottom of the stud. Any other suggestions? Already broke a ratchet and a hammer, so im not having fun right now.

I assume its where the tie rod end goes into the steering knuckle right?
Do you have any gap at all between the spindle and tie rod end base? If you can get at least a sawzall blade in there you can just cut the tie rod end.

im not trying to take the outer off the inner, im trying to take the lock nut off the outer tie rod end, if I heat up that nut, bye bye plastic, ill need a new tie rod. I gave up after trying to use hand tools all day, I put a big *** 5ft tube on there and stood on it while someone else tried to wrench the nut back on, STILL spun, so Im getting it towed to a mechanics house where hes got a full shop in his garage tomorrow so he can spend all of 5 mins takin it off, thank god for nationwide roadside assistance plus
