Default dyno tuning an 05 GXP with DT's tommorow.

A customer just had a set of DT's installed today, I have the opportunity to tune it on the dyno tomorrow. I know it has an air intake, but not sure what else but I think that's it. I'll let you know how it goes.

come out to MI I'll be glad to EDIT: however, with that MPH it sounds like LEW did a damn good job.

I'm going to be too busy tuning to take vids sorry. I'll get a pic of the dyno graph if I remember though. I'm not expecting super high numbers as its a mustang dyno. Either way I'll let you know how it goes.

I predict that headers on a stosk LS4 are worth only 6hp at peak. Tune is worth 8-12 so I am guessing 15-17 total over stock.

Okay Ill bite where do you work at?

and I agree with david it won't be as high as you guys think, probably high 260's, you want to get in the 280 range you have to mess with the valve train and do something with the Intake manifold.

well, finally tuned the gxp. Gained 6 hp and 6 tq at the peaks. Picked up about 10 lb-ft under the curve though.

Note, this is gain is ONLY from the tune, not the tune and headers. They never bothered to dyno before the headers and since I only come in to tune I didn't have the chance to request it.

I should also mention this dyno reads excessively low even for a mustang dyno so the 6hp is actually more like 8 when calculated as a percentage.......I'm looking into it. Most people get so wrapped up in the numbers they forget a dyno is just a tool for tuning.

However, overall I'm happy with the results and so is the customer.

Headers make a bigger difference with intake and cam guys. I picked up 4 mph after installing the headers and exhaust after my cam swap. 107 to 111.
They are a great supporting mod after intake and rockers.
