Belt Tensioner Broke Off!
#21
Battery removed, serp belt removed... idlers removed... alternator removed... fuse box removed, power steering pump loosened.
Power steering line bracket bolt removed... and 2 other bolts holding the tensioner on. I just found I think another bolt on the back of the tensioner facing the firewall... removed that....
WHAT IS STILL HOLDING THIS THING ON????
BTW I am removing the tensioner because simply I want the alternator bracket out, BUT of course the pulley attached to the tensioner is torque fused onto it and as many of you know without that pulley on the tensioner coming off, the alternator bracket(and the last bolt holding it on) has no clearance to come out...
can not find any reference for actually removing this tensioner and its all so dam tight is there a missing bolt or why after 4 bolts is this tensioner assembly as one piece NOT FALLING out the bottom on my garage floor?
BTW found this...

AT any rate I have removed all the bolts maybe I got to hit it with a hammer to make it fall off I was expecting after bolts removed for it to just fall off...
EDIT = found the last bolt... but no way I could figure out how to get it OUT of the car if I had to replace it LOL... coolant line in the way... anyway guess I hope it never breaks I only wanted the alternator bracket out anyway

I come across the occasional LS4 car in the U-pull yards near Omaha, and haven't had a need for much from them, lately. I'd check some local ones to see what's available on their inventories, if possible.
