Belt Tensioner Broke Off!

Belt Tensioner Broke Off!
So my belt tensioner broke off, tore up my belt, and damaged my CV Boot in the process. Dealership says $1400+ to fix How difficult of a task is this? I'm mechanically inclined. Any special tools required? Any help would be great. Thanks!

Call up your local parts store. Everything you need is fairly cheap compared to the $1400 BS quote you got

Right now I'm forced to drive my Skylark. Dirty, smudged up primer, with rust poking through and no A/C in 105 degrees!

***please help*****
nobody seems to be able to help me!!! I have a 2006 chevy impala SS with the 5.3 liter v8. I have the pulley to this part in your picture that needs to be replaced and I have no idea how to do it!!!!! I have at this point taken off the tensioner spring(doesn't appear to be compromised at all) took two 15 mm bolts to get it off this was of course after I had released the tension by taken the shredded belt off that led me to the damaged pulley in the first place. Now that I have the spring off I'm still just trying to figure out how to replace the pulley. Any info will help. Thanks in advance

Once the torx bolt in the center of the pulley is removed, the pulley should slide off the boss that it is resting on. If not a little penetrating oil, persuasion with a pry bar, or a pulley puller should help remove it - all the ones I have taken apart the pulley came right off once the bolt was out.

Yeah sorry that happened. Mine did too... and when the belt snapped it took a 3rd off my radiator. I get why the dealer charges what they do... its a rough job. Get a 6" hose clamp to secure the spring when you install to make the belt fitment easier. That hose clamp will allow you to keep the spring compressed without special tools and a 3rd arm. Works great when you need to do the belt or other accessories on the car as it makes belt movement easy. Just secure the belt with some painters' tape to make sure you don't loose your orientation around the pulleys.
Cheers.

Can I ask why you aren't just getting the whole belt tensioner as one assembly? When mine failed... I had to. It broke in half. I would suggest that... as they are prone to failure and you DO NOT want to go thru this again or loose your perfectly good radiator like I did.
