Heads Up display went out any suggestions i checked the fuse it was good.. it went out when i got it back from the body shop. the body shop just fixed a dent in my hood and painted the hood?Huh?

It's not the clock spring on the steering wheel....that is for the airbag. The spring you are refering to is located in the Hud unit. It holds the reflector mirror at an angle up at the windshield. the spring is held the the base of the Hud assembly via a small plastic clip. Eventually it breaks usually from a bad pothole or bump.... Remove the Hud assy and take it apart.
It u want to know for sure if its the spring, slouch way down and look up above where the steering wheel sits the Hud should still display but way out of position.... Let me know if u need help.

Possible Easy & Cheap fix on the GXP... It must be friday
I fixed the hud when I took it apart the spring was rolling around under the mirror. It was not very hard to do at all but I would say if you do it find someone with small hands.
