Default Another trip to the Track

Well made a trip to the Track and couldnt lower my times . I ran constant 13.6s even with 40 degree weather and LS6 intake. I did on the other hand pick up 3 MPH .

Got killed by a TBSS
His mods CAI, Magnaflow exhaust, and tune.

Here is the slip of the race.

Man that's still pretty good! Stickier tires would help with 60 fts.

Lol , yes they are . But with the sucky track prep I couldnt get it to stay for a burnout ,it would drag the rear tires .

Any ideas guys as to what could be the cause of not being able to improve my times? Remember guys , I ran this same time without headers and LS6 intake.

What pressure are your tires at(fronts and backs)?? You could see that you spun pretty good on the launch. What rpm are you leaving at?

Still some very nice runs!!

Oh and I'll be down there for New Years for sure. I'm coming down Friday(30th) staying Friday and Saturday, then going to Padre Island Sunday and leaving Monday.

if your honestly shifting at 6500 you are over reving then engine. i shift at 6500-6800 due to my camshaft and related mods that have moved my torque curve up.
you want to shift roughly 500 rpm higher then your peak hp. 5900-6000 would be ideal for your set up.
over reving is hurting your et and trap speeds.
make sure your tires are hot. do a burn out until the smoke turns grom white to light brown, and stage.
spring blockers are a must!

What about your 60' times? A little slower 60' makes a big differance at the end of the 1/4.

Thanks David .I was running 12 psi on the fronts and 42psi on the backs. I was leaving at 1500 RPM.

Text me up when you get here if you arrive early that day , might be able to make a trip the the track.

I was thinking that too on it over reving, actually I think my tune is off.
Ok if I run it in D first to second shifts at 6500 but a couple of times it hits the rev limiter, and if I run it in second the first to second shifts at 6100 . Btw the transition of the shift first to second feels very sluggish. At regular throttle it feels very snappy.

I tried to smoke them tires up many times but would keep dragging them rears.

Oh on those spring blockers , Ive tried many places and no luck in finding them. I post on the wanted parts section here , local forums and craiglist and nothing . Its like if they were extincted LOL

I think spring blockers would help a lot. She lifts up in the front quite a bit. I think I have some in my toolbox at work.

Was your retune on dyno , hp pro/wideband, or just hp? you should be able to rip the tires off w/o issue so i feel like something is ******* you down?

It was done with a wideband street tune.

There's definately a lot left in your launch. A 1.9x is possible with DRs, and that would put you in the low 13s. I'm with David. I'd recommend shifting at 6100 RPM in 1st just because of the gearing, and then 5900-6000 RPM in 2nd.
