What to do with my old motor.
I spun a rod or crank bearing on my GXP and had to replace the motor. I still have the origional motor which had about 78,000 miles on it. It was still running but knocking bad when it was pulled. My question is what should I do with it? Should I just part it out?

What other cars do you have laying around? rebuilt it and slap it in there.
If I had a spare motor, I would build the **** out of it, slowly but surely. Cam it, some head work, manifold, then eventualy swap it back in. Sell the good parts you are swapping for more performance.

243 heads are always in high demand. 300 for the set and they should sell quick. Bottom end you will have harder time selling but maybe not?

Buddy of mine has a machine shop and there was a SBC sitting in the back for a while. It split the block in the lifter valley, hairline crack that is barely noticeable. He gave it to me and that us what I'm doing with it. I got a set of 4 billet aluminum rods with slugs from a 532 BBC, I think it was a13 or 14:1 motor. Those are being drilled out now so I can bolt them down.
