I am going to be replacing the power steering pump on my Mom's '07 Impala SS as well as changing the plugs. My question is to you think it needs plug wires too? It has 105k on it and the wires seem to be ok, they aren't really much wires anyway. Any tips on changing the plugs I should now before getting started?

yeah, you'll definitely need to do new wires too, because you will destroy the existing wires trying to take them off, haha... have fun!

Not much, maybe 2 inches. I removed the dog bone and had someone help me rock the car forward and locked the parking brake when it was forward, that gave me just a little extra space to get my hand behind the engine. You can't see anything back there you have to do evereything based on feel in the back.

With the FWD you could remove the dogbone then use some tie-downs and clamps to wench the engine closer to the front. Needed to disconnect the air filter inlet to the throttle body. GM made a tool for this but was cheaper to wench it
