cutting off stock mufflers
On the subject of mufflers, can anyone tell me if the basic factory SS muffler is the same as the GXP muffler? I have both cars in the shop today and the GXP is most definitely louder, at idle and while driving with more interior drone. Both cars have factory exhaust.
it is a bit droney but i love it daily drive the car in summer had like this for 2 years now or so. i just picked up a 03 silverado with the 5.3 also first thing i did was cut the muffler out and run a pipe out infront of my passenger rear tire also a bit droney but i just like being able to hear the thunder of a v8

Sorry.
Sorry.Anyway, my point is that always hearing the different pitches of the muffler delete or a similar interior droning exhaust is what I don't personally care for. Just personal preference.

As for the thread at hand, just get yourself a good muffler, cut off the old ones and straight pipe the ends. Then cut out your resonator and put the muffler where the resonator was. Done deal.
94ss06gxp, I noticed that. I go through Shepherd all the time. We have a cottage up in Weidman.
