Default Blacked out the grille chrome and added the SS emblem

Think it really changes the whole look of the front end.

I separated the chrome trim from the grille section, scuffed it down, and just hit it with some self etching primer. Waited for it to dry then hit it with some trim black, which gives it that nice semi gloss.

That may be the next route I take, the black depos will really make quite the visual impact.

How did you separate them?

It's just like the tabs that hold the grille into the bumper itself. You just have to be careful popping the trim section from the grille, but otherwise the chrome trim completely separates and makes it a lot easier to paint.

Hey Red.. What SS emblem did you use and how do you have it mounted on the grille?? I like what you did and I've been thinking of doing mine like that....

15211285 is the part number for the emblem I used. It's the same one that fits the doors of our cars. The bowtie comes off the grille with a little bit of effort, then you just have to snip off the alignment tab from the grille and clean off the adhesive.

The new SS emblem is held in place by the double sided tape that comes with it, simple as peeling that backing and making sure you are all lined up.

Quick Reply: Blacked out the grille chrome and added the SS emblem
