Fluid Leaking

Fluid Leaking Found a puddle in my garage before I left out to go to work. Color is little reddish but looks watery. Coming from the left side of the bay (by the front right tire). How would I know what type of fluid it is? Also noticed a erratic ticking/clicking sound, similar to the clicking sound a gas stove makes when your igniting the flame when accelerating. Checked my tranny fluid, an oil. Dip sticks look ok. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.

could be the drivers side axle seal leaking, in which case yes, it would be tranny fluid....
just had both of my axle assemblies replaced last week, and my drivers side axle seal was shot too - causing a tranny fluid leak....

its power steering, you can (and i do) use trans fluid instead of power steering fluid. but you CANNOT use power steering fluid as trans fluid. they are basically the same thing but the trans fluid has different properties to it.

Thanks for the replies. Narrowed it down to power steering and coolant. Couldn't really tell at night, gonna jack it up today and see whats going on. Don't think it's tranny fluid.*Fingers crossed* (I need this car to make it too a 100k mi before I rebuild anything) Not dark enough to be. Looks like a pump or a bad hose needs to be replaced. Headed to the shop tomorrow to get a write up. @06MonteSS how much was it to get it fixed? @Barnett92 @baltsk8er69 -___- lol

All jokes aside it very well could be those lines that come out the front of the trans. They leak on 105% percent of 4t65e's. The fluid might appear watered down but powersteering is slightly more clear no reddish tint unless a previous owner added trans to ps.

Drum roll.... It's the water pump. Local shop wants 170 for labor 265 for parts. Not bad but I feel like I can do better.@Barnett92 no offense taken man. Im not that sensitive. I'm just glad its not the tranny. Going to Internet shop around for the pump and see what I can do.
