Default New Tires Put on Today

Well I got rid of some shot Goodyear rs/a today, and had some Dunlop DZ101 put on. From a dig I can feather it to virtually no wheelspin, and at a 20 roll in 1st I can hammer on it without any wheel spin. Before it wouldnt hook up for anything under 35 in 1st. Right now the car just has the diablo tune no DOD. Hopefully they can still hook up decently after the ls1 swap, DP, and Lew tune.

Thats the same way the Nitto 555R Extremes are. When warm or hot they can be feathered or even 3/4 throttle and no wheel spin

Yeah there pretty similar tires in looks and the both have 300 tread wear. It's nice not being able to somewhat put down the power from a dig. Hopefully they can still perform after the intake/DP/Tune. I guess I'll find out after this weekend. My buddy just told me the DOD tray is good to go.

I really like the Dunlop DZ101, but it's only been a couple weeks since they've been put on. I'm guessing I'll see about 20-25k miles out of them before they need to be replaced. I wouldn't recommend them of you have to drive thru snow as there a performance summer tire. I'll be running blizzaks on other rims in the winter. It seems a lot of guys like falkens on the forum.

I'd also recommend an ls1 intake swap over the headers. You'll see better gains and it's a little bit cheaper. I have about $350 into mine.

I have general gmax on mine and love them. Look good sound quiet enough and awesome traction. As for wear they are too new to say just yet.

Welcome to the forums guys - didn't know RSA's still existed ... worst tires ever.

Run a search on tires - we have gone through countless tires over the past 5 years. Stay away from the V grooved tires - they make way too much noise.

I wish they made Goodyear Eagle LS 2s in the front size to match the rears on my wife's car. Only FWD car we've ever had that doesn't cup the rear tires which is a real plus since you can't rotate.

I have those same tires and the road noise drives me crazy. Can't wait for them to wear out. Performance wise, pretty nice just really, really noisy.

I have the General Gmax on my SS and they are incredible in my opinion. If someone is having trouble with road noise there might be another issue altogether. Mine are barely noticeable at any speed. They wear great and hold the road fantastic.

Road noise is really negligible. I'd look into that if you have noise with them.

I've pondered it, no idea what it would be if not for tires. They are wearing properly, no pull on the wheel at speed, straight down the road. I have replaced both front hubs/bearings. Road noise changes with pavement types. I suppose I'll try rebalancing them but they seem fine, no steering wheel vibrations up to 80 mph. I am at a loss if it isn't the tires themselves.

Just going to add that the Gmax tires do have a good ride and grip. If it were not for the noise issue I wouldn't consider a different tire for the price. It could be that I am too picky too, each persons threshold on what annoys them is different I just think they are excessively noisy in my car.
