Default Straight Piping

Hey everyone, So I have been contemplating doing all kinds of different things to my exhaust, be it a whole new exhaust, just mufflers, etc. But I now am thinking about just straight piping. My question is, would I get a lot of drone or raspyness going that route? If it matters I have an 06' Monte Carlo SS

it would be raspy and cackle, however I like it on occasion most likely because its LOUD so I would suggest an electric cutout and have fun!

I have 3" catless and res delete back into 2 Magnaflow mufflers. I'll tell you right now, it drones like none other! And I have mufflers lol. The dB's inside the cabin were measuring about 86 going 75mph on the interstate (Our Sierra is about 74dB in comparison). I second the cut-out option if you really want it loud but are worried about drone.

I had a friend that had Longtubes and a y-pipe and dumped at the y. No cats or muffler. It was loud to say the least, raspy and loud. My camaro currently only has cats and dumps out the back and doesn't drone.

im running the magnaflow catback sans mufflers. its loud enough. i kept the resonator so i dont have rasp issues, nor do i know if you deleted it if it would be raspy. it does drone. if all the windows are closed and your at more than a quarter pedal your gf will hate your guts. i personally drive with the windows down and the radio on so it doesnt bother me. its not a horrible constant droning but its there.

i think this all depends on what you consider straight pipes. if you mean ditching the mufflers then i think its ok. its cheap and makes the car louder. now if you mean catless dp, no res, or mufflers than id say no. i can only assume that thatll be super loud and drone like hell. oh and if you are keeping dod id say none of the above are good options. sounds god awful.

Are you trying to gain a lot of performance or just strictly for sound? Budget? My car sounds perfect to me with just a resonator delete and magnaflow mufflers with dod tuned out. Here it is

I'm running straight pipe back to 4" tips. I just took a 6hr trip and it wasn't bad. Only thing that's annoying, is in town. But I keep it in 3rd to stay out of helicopter mode -_-

Here's mine

Is there anything I can go to get rid of the drone? Will taking off the resonator or cat help or make it worse?
