TEP Trans

There is a craigslist add with a guy selling a tep trans for $1400. He states that he has 2.93 gears and a 7/8 chain, hardened input shaft, but also warned that i would need a supercharged axle. I advsied that i have an ls4 and he told me i have a 4t65-e trans when i don't and several other statements about ls4 cars that were inaccurate. Is there a way to verify which trans he actually has?

Need info...what type of car you have+ what type of car is the trans is coming out of.

FYI every wbody (grand Prix impala regal etc..) Comes with a 4t65-e transmission

I thought we had 4t65-hd transmissions it came out a 98 grand prix but from his mods it seemed like he was making alot of hp so he may had upraded the trans. ALSO thanx for the reply

Sounds like he has a 4t65eHD, but it won't have the LS4 specific casing - all 4t65's share interchangeable internals, just different between standard and HD. TEP builds all kind of transmissions, so it doesn't mean it'll work for your car. Like 91ParkAve said, need more info.
