Hey guy! Just bought a 07 gxp. After careful looking and thoroughly inspecting the car. I bought it!

Its the ultra fast liquid silver. With 112k on the clock.

So what are some preventive maintenance? I'm planning on a tip in spring since it looks like factory stuff. So what should I get? Plugs? Wires? For performance and def need to make ur loud so exhaust?

Heres a list of mods to start. Magnaflow is the only company that makes a catback system for the ls4. Its pricey. Can just have a custom bent exhaust done. Start with your basics, intake, downpipe, exhaust(can just swap out the mufflers if you dont wanna spend $ on a complete system) i replaced stock mufflers with flowmaster super 44's, very loud. Magnaflows are quieter depends on what you like

Thanks guys for the much more warming welcoming then gmls4 did. They still have yet to reply. Yes I'm a aware of the tranny issues. Of these cars. I am in debate as to if I should purchase a warranty I have 27 day to decide. I am a mechanic and I have rebuilt trannys before. But I've noticed upon reading and such that it seems like the trannys that fail more often than not that they are located in higher temperature climates. I live in Ohio and plan on putting on a cooler this summer. I'm a 3rd owner and will be the last.

Few question right off the bat. And I do realize there is a search function.

Tune up. I prefer to do it on my own that way I know it right and I'm not cashing $$ for Joe mechanical to take 30 smoke breaks. So best type of plugs and wires? And how often if at all do I need to replace coils? I have a misfire and I'm just going to do a tune up.

Oils? Best types? Filters? Non drain back? Etc.

Brake pads?

Also day cai? Any links?

I was planning on a SLP exhaust. I love loud. Lol but I'm thinking of just muffler delete. Unless I lose HP?
So loud is what I want.

Does running 87 really decrease perfrom ? I'm not sure if its the tune up needing done or gas. But I get no torque steer? I'm sadly depressed. Could be lack of tread on tires? no?

Well anyhow thanks for in the info and hope to hear back from you all soon.

You want loud then get the super 44's, downpipe res delete and a cutout. This way u dont ALWAYS have to be super loud. Control it when u want, thats wat i did anyways but to each his own. The super 44's alone with a downpipe and res delete are LOUDD. Even without a cutout. My cutout is closed right now and i still love the sound of the 44's.

P.s. torque steer isnt that bad, only according to people who havent actually driven the car. Tune up prolly wont hurt either. I ALWAYS run at least 91 octane. As far as plugs...ngk tr6IX or tr55's

His name is lew. He works with diablosport tunes. His name on here is 06montess. Buy a tuner and custom tune package through him and he will transform your ride heres the link.. http://www.diablewtune.com/

Run a data log on your car and email it to him. He will tweak it and email you back the custom tune to upload into your diablo intune or trinity tuner, just make sure you first install your aftermarket parts before the tune obviously. Btw, an ls6 intake swap is the best thing you can do to wake the car up, since the ls4 intake is a bottlenecked choke artist. Theres a sticky on it in here

When you buy the tuner and get it, plug it into your car and select data logging. Then you will drive the car and it will record everything. Air to fuel ratios etc.. then when you email the log to lew, he will adjust everything for better driveability and performance. Diablo also supports the tcm now to improve tranny performance and longevity. Instructions are on the diablew site for what exactly you need to do. Highway driving, wot runs etc..

Were are Yu at in Ohio? I live near Cincinnati.
You shouldn't need coil packs. Replace your wires with acdelco, check rock auto.com. Replace your spark plugs with ngk tr6ix. Don't use anti-seize on your spark plug threads and torque too spec. I believe its 140inch lbs.
Replace your air filter, stock is fine.
Find the link on here google it, on cleaning your induction system...maf sensor, map sensor, and throttle body. This is important.
I am replacing my upstream o2 sensor just to ensure accurate fueling, again i use ac delco and rock auto.com
I suggest removing your downpipe and welding in a straight pipe in place of the catalytic converter. It muffled sound a ton. I removed my mufflers first then my cat. I might have actually left my mufflers.. Though they were rusted and thetips restrict allot.
Check out diablewtune.com to be able to run catless you need his custom tuning, and its well worth it man.
As far as Trans goes... Internals need addressed the Trans needs removed for the critical **** but it should limp along for a while.
That's all i can spew off to of my head atm.

Why do all these email tuners use Diablo (simple) and not HP Tuners (more in depth) tuning software, I got HP Tuners already so its kinda frustrating lol
